Plink Plonk was an ongoing series of live events, programmed by Eastern Ear to bring world class artists and improvisers to Norwich and Norfolk. In 2025 we stopped programming Plink Plonk to focus on The Communal Ear, Norwich is now served by the fantastic Holloway venue fulfilling the need for a greater diversity and quality of experimental music in the region, so our focus has shifted to site-specific events and happenings outside of traditional gig venues.
Alongside local musicians and groups such as Luke Sanger, Chris Dowding, WORMS, Jacob Solstice and Sudden Amusements, artists that have performed at Plink Plonk include, Alan Wilkinson, John Butcher, Cath Roberts, David Ross, Anton Hunter, Kit Downes, ma/ti/om, Daniel Thompson, Sloth Racket, Madwort Saxophone Quartet and many others.
We have also worked in partnership with and curated for many other local arts organisations such as SAVORR, Norwich University of the Arts, Norfolk and Norwich Festival, Britten Pears Arts and originalprojects;
The archive of events exists at Facebook here, or in poster form via scrolling through this page.
